Top Fall Scented Candles To Get For Your Home

It’s that time of the year! Time to fill your home with delicious smelling candles, all scented to match the beautiful fall season. Not only do these candles fill your home with fresh smells that you can’t find any other season, but they also bring the perfect lighting ambiance to your home, just in time for the days to get shorter. Wonder which fall scented candles you should get? We have the perfect list.

Pumpkin Anything

Pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice, pumpkin patch; pumpkin anything will fit perfectly! When you think of the traditional autumn theme scent, pumpkin is probably the first thing to pop into your mind. There are so many different kinds of variations of this scent that you can get as many as your heart desires.

Cinnamon and Spices

Cozying up next to the fire and with a cinnamon spiced scented candle lit is a recipe for the perfect fall evening. Both incredibly sweet and mouth watering, they are second on our most popular list. The reason why these two smells are so popular during this season is because they are the perfect autumn flavoring in desserts, reminding us of home through every bite-- or sniff.

Inanimate Objects That Remind You Of Fall

We’re talking about candles called “Sweater Weather” or “Warm Wood” and other inanimate objects that make you think of autumn. You’ll be amazed by how similar to the name these candles can smell, which help really bring that fall feel to your home. They aren’t for everyone, but everyone should give them a try at least once in their lives!

Fall Fruits

If your home is already filled with fall fruits, why not also fill it with candles that will enhance those scents? Apples, figs, pears, and cranberries all are back in season soon, so of course their aromas are popular as well. Every room will feel more inviting and fresh.

The Dos And Don’ts of Filing a Grievance

It may seem like there’s a lot that goes into filing a property tax grievance, but the process can be easier than you realize. Especially if you keep up with the dos and don’ts of filing a grievance. However, if you’re still unsure about how it all works, we are always here to help.

Remember These Dos and Don’t While Filing a Grievance:

Do keep in mind that as a homeowner, you are entitled to file a Property Tax Grievance. This is a process that involves a formal complaint against the assessed value of your property.

Don’t forget to do some research. It helps to take a look at similar homes to yours or your neighbor’s and see what their taxes look like. This way, you can better understand the market value of your home and make more sense of your property taxes.

Do make note of the filing periods for your area of residence.

Don’t hesitate to ask questions, that’s what we’re here for! You can give our office a call at 484-0654 so we can answer any questions or concerns you may have as we enter the new filing period.

Do be patient. The grievance process is a long one and it could take around 18 months from beginning to end. However, regardless of when your case is finalized, the results will always be retroactive to the beginning of the tax year for which you filed your property tax grievance.

Don’t fret if your request is turned down. This will not cause an increase in your taxes and there are no penalties just for trying. You can apply again next year.

Do apply now! It comes at no extra cost to you and there is no charge for unsuccessful cases.

Don’t miss your deadline. It’s important to keep up with your area’s specific deadlines. Filing time is once a year, so don’t miss out.

Fall Maintenance Tips For Homeowners

As the new season quickly approaches, homeowners should begin to prepare for what this change will bring to their home. From pesky leaves to a drop in temperature, fall maintenance is no joke. Know all the steps it takes to keep your house organized and clean in autumn, so that you can enter the rest of the year with a well kept and aesthetically pleasing home.

Rake Often

In order to keep a clean lawn and keep things organized, raking your leaves often is key. It can be a strenuous task, but it’s not something that needs to be done by one person. Get the whole family together for some leaf raking and make the chore go by much faster. Plus, it keeps your curb appeal up all throughout the fall season.

Clean Out Your Gutters

In fall, there is so much clutter in your gutters. It’s important to clean out all those leaves and debris, so that water can properly drain through the system. When your gutters are full, they can’t move water like they’re meant to. Instead, water will flood out the sides and top, which could cause water damage to parts of your siding and foundation. Just put on some gloves and keep those gutters clear!

Wash Your Windows

Don’t you want to be able to see the beautiful orange and red leaves on the trees? Then, your windows are going to need a good washing. Making this chore a top priority during the changing of seasons helps keep your home clean all year round. Bonus: getting rid of the moss and allergens from your windows can help keep your indoor air quality clean along the way.

Long Island Malls That Are Officially Open

Now that phase 4 of reopening has already begun, many malls across Long Island are finally open to the public. While this new beginning allows for people to go back to a somewhat normal routine, there are new business hours and regulations for each of these places. Here are some of the biggest malls on Long Island that are open and what they require from customers:

Roosevelt Field Mall

Location: Garden City

Hours: 11 AM - 7PM Monday through Saturday, 12-6PM on Sundays

Regulations: Masks must be worn inside at all times. All employees must participate in a health screening, made to ensure that they don’t come to work if they exhibit COVID or flu-like symptoms. There will be limitations to the number of people allowed inside, play areas will be closed, and furniture and restrooms will have safety spacing.

Smith Haven Mall

Location: Lake Grove

Hours: 11 AM - 7PM Monday through Saturday, 12-6PM on Sundays

Regulations: Masks are required. By using the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) approved products and regulations, there will be constant sanitizing and disinfecting of high-traffic areas. These areas include entrance ways, dining areas, restrooms, and busy stores. They also are making sure there are masks and sanitizing wipes available throughout the mall.

Walt Whitman Shops

Location: Huntington Station

Hours: 11 AM - 7PM Monday through Saturday, 12-6PM on Sundays

Regulations: Masks must be worn at all times. Outdoor dining areas are open and available to the public, with social distancing maintained and CDC approved sanitization. You do not need to wear a mask while seated at your dining table, but if you get up at any time your mask must go back on.

Tanger Outlets

Location: Deer Park

Hours: 11 AM - 7PM Monday through Sunday

Regulations: Masks must be worn indoors at all times. They will be providing anti-bacterial soap and hand sanitizer stations throughout the mall. There will be frequent cleanings of busy areas, including employee areas as well.

There are also many more malls that have opened since phase 4 began, so check your local malls to see their new hours and regulations. This new normal on Long Island might take time to get used to, but it is well worth it in the end.
