With the Nassau County deadline being March 1st, there are only a few short weeks left to file a grievance. The term 'weeks' might make you say; "No worries, I have time," but there are some big events and holidays in February that might derail you. Check out what is coming up and remember to file your grievance in the last week of January to avoid the trouble!

Black History Month
This isn't necessarily a holiday that we celebrate on an individual day, but throughout the month of February we recognize the efforts of the leaders in the Civil Rights Movement. With all of their amazing accomplishments on the news, it could be easy to forget about your tax reductions-- and rightfully so. That is why it is important to submit your application now before it slips your mind.
Valentine's Day
On February 14th, we celebrate a holiday that recognizes that special someone in our lives. With all that special planning and gift shopping, it can be easy to lose track of time. With March 1st being the deadline for applications in Nassau County, what better gift to get your significant other than a SIGNIFICANT reduction!
President's Day/ Week
If you wait all the way until the kids have off from school, you're really playing with fire. This is one of the last weeks in February and seeing that you likely have family plans can make the rest of the month fly by. We highly recommend not waiting until the last minute to fill out your application.
Mardi Gras
For all the party people out there, Mardi Gras is a national holiday and something that you plan for all year long. This year it falls on February 28th and with flights, fashion concerns and party planning, your tax reductions are the last thing on your mind. Get the worry off of your mind and fill out your application today to avoid any last minute scrambling.

If you're ready to get started, visit our website to access the Nassau County applications. Should you have any questions about our process, call 516/631- 484-0654 or send an email to

property tax reductions| Long Island Property Tax

When it comes to property tax reductions on Long Island, P.T.R.C. Inc. is one of the best in the business. We have been at it for over 27 years and our team of experts has earned MILLIONS of dollars in reductions for our clients. Yes, there are other services out there that do what we do, but nobody does it like us. Our process is unique, effective and it can work for you if you just take the time out to submit your application today! Here is a review from a client that we helped in the past:

"I'm a new homeowner and decided to try and lower my taxes since I realized how crazy and all over the place taxes are in different Long Island neighborhoods. I decided to send email inquiries to a few tax reduction services and I had no idea who to select. I hired P.T.R.C. Inc. because I liked how they handled my inquiry. I felt I had some personalized experience and they had answered all of my questions in a timely matter. I just got the results and I am more than pleased. They saved me over $3,000! I will definitely be using them again and I recommend them to every homeowner" - Cole M.

When you have been in the business as long as we have, you start to develop relationships with the people in the industry. These relationships can BENEFIT you because our team has been successful during all phases of the reduction process. If you don't receive a reduction in the initial phase, we will take your case to the Small Claims Assessment Review (SCAR) where we have been extremely successful. And the best part is, we only get paid if you receive a reduction!

Once you fill out your application, your work is just about done. We will perform a comparable market analysis, lead you through the process, and then you can sit back and relax while we earn you a reduction.

If you want to be just like Cole and reap the benefits of a property tax reduction, you need to submit an application today. The deadline for Nassau County homeowners is March 1st and for Suffolk County residents it is May 16th. That might seem far away, but we all know how fast these things can arrive.

If you have any questions about the process, call 516/631- 484-0654 or email

Nassau County Homeowners NEED to File Now

Property Tax Reduction Consultants
125 Jericho Turnpike, Suite 500
Jericho, NY 11753
(516) 484-0654 or (631) 484-0654

Knock, Knock!... Who's There?... It's March 1st... Wait, I forgot to file my tax grievance!!

You don't want this to happen to you, which is why NOW is the best time to file. There are so many other things to worry about on the calendar that submitting an application can easily slip through the cracks. But you can NOT afford for that to happen. So if you have some extra time before bed or over the weekend, submit an application on our website!

There are a few different tax reduction services operating on Long Island, but our experience separates us from the pack. For over 27 years, P.T.R.C. Inc. has successfully handled over 230,000 assessment challenges bringing in over one MILLION dollars in savings for our clients.

The only thing that you have to do to start down the path to savings is submit your application. There is no filing fee and we only get paid if you are granted a reduction. So essentially, the only risk you have to take is giving up a few minutes of your time filling out the application. That's it!

The reason we recommend filing now is because this is not an overnight process. It typically takes anywhere from 18-24 months from your submission to your reduction. While the only thing you have to do is file, there are a number of different things on our end that can be time consuming. After we receive your Nassau County application, we will present it to the Assessment Review Commission. If we do not receive a reduction here, we will proceed to the Small Claims Assessment Review-- where we have been very successful. And again, if you are not granted a reduction, there is ZERO harm done.

If you want to get started, visit our website to access the Nassau County applications. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact us by calling 516/631-484-0654 or send an email to

home buying tips- home selling tips

Whether you're looking to relocate on Long Island or move away altogether, there is still one big elephant in the room. It's your current home and selling it NEEDS to be your top priority. But at this time of year, the housing market isn't exactly what you would call 'hot,' and this deters a lot of buyers and sellers. But we are here to tell you that you CAN sell in the winter and here's how you can do it»

Spring Looks Better
In most cases, you don't just up and decide to sell your home on a whim. There's usually months of discussion and contemplation before the final decision is made. So do yourself a favor and take some pictures of your home in the warmer weather so potential buyers can see your landscaping and get a better overall feel for your property. We all know the winter is a dreary looking season.
Maintain. Maintain. Maintain
It's absolutely critical to go above and beyond with your home maintenance in the winter months. You don't want a potential buyer slipping on some ice or walking into your home when the heat is broken. Make sure you are salting, shoveling and keeping up the outside while you pay a professional to inspect your heating systems.
Light It Up
With the sun taking some time off, you should add some extra lighting around your home. Make sure your walkway is lit for open houses and that those bulbs are new and ready to last. This will give your home the look it needs to reel in the perfect buyers.
Take Advantage of the Slow Season
While Spring and Summer are definitely the hot seasons, there is no harm in taking advantage of the lesser competition. If you have a wonderful product (your home), it is going to matter what time of year you sell it. If anything, it is only going to help your selling price because there are less homes to undercut you.
Flexibility is Key
You need to be understanding of people's schedules and travel restrictions at this time of year. If you had a scheduled showing for 4pm and it's snowing outside, you need to be able to tolerate tardiness. The same goes for an Open House that doesn't get as many visitors as you had hoped. You might just have to wait for a brighter day!

If you're looking to sell a home, that generally means that you are in the market for a new one. When you do find a new home, it might come with those Long Island property taxes that you weren't prepared for. If you feel they're unreasonable, contact P.T.R.C. Inc. and we will be glad to assist you!

New Ways to Save in 2017!

Property Tax Reduction Consultants
125 Jericho Turnpike, Suite 500
Jericho, NY 11753
(516) 484-0654 or (631) 484-0654

The turning of the calendar into 2017 marks the official end of the holiday season. If you have a family, this is usually the time of year you try and cut back to make up for the previous months spending spree. We wanted to get you started with some of our favorite money saving tips that you can implement in this upcoming year.

Implement The 30 Day Rule
If there is something you want like a television or home workout equipment, give the decision time to settle in. Contemplate the purchase for 30 days and if the desire is still there, go ahead and buy what you want if the funds are applicable. But if you buy with impulse, you'll often wind up spending money on things you don't really need.
Upgrade Food Storage
Eating out is always enjoyable, but it can get expensive if you do it too often. When there's an opportunity to save, you should take advantage, and a chest freezer might be something that can benefit you. If you have multiple mouths to feed, buy in bulk at BJ's or Costco and store on-sale meat in the downstairs chest freezer. This way you always have meals ready to go to help you avoid the restaurant tab.
Calm Your Credit
If you're in the market for a new home or car in 2017, you should avoid other large scale purchases. You want to keep your credit in tact so that nothing can interfere with you and your dream home. Major appliances, entertainment systems and big vacations should wait until after you've moved into a new home.
Upgrade Plumbing Fixtures
  • Toilets- Upgrade to a toilet that offers a dual-flush option. It will dispense only the necessary amount of water to dispose of specific types of waste rather than using excess water for no reason.
  • Faucets- Upgrading your faucet is a great way to save the environment and your wallet. When you find the look you want, make sure it meets the EPA standard for flow-rate of 1.5 gallons per minute or less.
  • Shower heads- Did you know that your shower accounts for almost 20% of your home's water usage? While this number is high, there are ways you can reduce it. One of them being an upgrade to a WaterSense approved shower head that uses up to 50% less water.
Here at P.T.R.C. Inc., we help you save in more ways than one. If you live in Nassau or Suffolk county and are interested in lowering your outrageous property taxes, we would love to hear from you today. Our unique tax grievance process is very effective and we have helped thousands of Long Islanders reduce their taxes over the past quarter century.
