As Long Island prepares itself for a blizzard, Long Island Press has the latest information to what we can expect from the storm. The National Weather Service has announced the storm could bring between 7 and 10 inches of snow by 1 p.m. on Friday.

Wind gusts can reach up to 46 miles per hour making driving and snow drift an issue as well as lowering the wind chill to a possible ten below zero.

The National Weather Service has advised not to travel, but if you must, carry along a winter survival kit.

Governor Andrew Cuomo has warned the Long Island Expressway could and a few other parkways could be closed because of the dangers of the blizzard. Cuomo hopes the LIRR will not have to be closed. (Eyewitness News)
