The 4th of July is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence and our freedom from England.  The first annual celebration in 1777 included ringing bells, band music, bonfires and fireworks.  Every year we continue that tradition with celebrations all over Long Island The possibilities are endless with the following list of parades, picnics, fire work displays and much more.
