However, it's important to keep in mind that what you see on the home's listing is typically a summary of the current year's property tax bill - when homes are sold, assessed values tend to change, which, you guessed it, impacts your property taxes on that particular home. It's also important to remember that the current homeowner may have been eligible for exemptions that might not apply to you, and also, what the home was assessed at for the current homeowner might not be an accurate reflection of the market value to date.
